The 'On the Trail of the Pine Marten' round walk will take you to the most striking spots between the Senne and Hallerbos along winding paths. Who knows, you might spot a sparrowhawk, kingfisher, little grebe or deer along the way...

The hike is 14 kilometers long and is clearly marked in counterclockwise direction with pine marten arrows. There's plenty of spots to stop off for a rest along the way. Sturdy shoes are recommended, however, as trails can be muddy. The hiking loop is not wheelchair accessible. In dry weather it is possible with a baby carriage.

➜ Starting Point 1: Station Square, 1502 Lembeek

➜ Starting Point 2: Church Essenbeek, 1500 Halle

➜ Starting Point 3: Parking Hallerbos, Hogebermweg, 1500 Halle

➜ Starting Point 4: Forest Museum, Vlasmarktdreef, 1500 Halle

You can easily shorten the route. Without walking through the Lembeek forest and the Hallerbos, the walk is about 9 km.

Extend the route? You can also hike deeper into the Hallerbos! We recommend the Sequoia walk (4 km), which is well marked with blue painted posts. Continue reading on the Hallerbos page for more hiking trails.

The map shows nice trails in light green that you can take as an extension of the dark green hiking loop. Beware: the light green hiking trails are not marked on the property!
