The majestic Basilica of St Martin in Halle regularly swings open its doors on Sundays to offer visitors a peek behind the scenes. On these heritage Sundays, you'll get the chance to visit the underground treasury of climb the 71 m to the top of the tower. If you're lucky, you might even catch an afternoon carillon concert!
Tip: Den AST local history museum is also free to visit on heritage Sundays. The perfect combination!
Peregrine falcons
During the peregrine falcon breeding season, the tower is not open to the public. That way, the birds that have taken up home in the tower can go about their business in peace. The treasury remains open to visitors on all open days. Please note that neither the tower, nor the treasury are accessible to people in wheelchairs.
